Community Pre-Schools
Learning Through Play
About us
"We achieve the best outcomes for our children through our commitment, professionalism and dedication."
Community Preschool was established as an umbrella group nearly thirty years ago with two preschool early years settings: Hall Lane Pre-School (Whitwick), and Ravenstone Pre-School. The group is managed by Sarah Jacklin and Rebecca Burton, qualified early years professionals including BA Hons in Childhood Studies and HND Early Years Professional combined with extensive experience in all areas of pre-school care and education.
We believe that the best outcomes for all our children are best achieved through the commitment and professionalism of our wider team of dedicated staff who hold qualifications including NVQ3 Early Years, and Qualified Teacher status.

Highly trained and specialist staff
All our staff regularly undertake training to keep up with current legislation and to enhance their current skills. We have designated staff specifically for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Health and Safety and Behaviour and we have extensive experience in supporting families with children who require SEND support and have excellent relationships with the full range of external multi-agency specialist services.

Our staff hold current Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene qualifications.

We help your children to develop those all important life skills
We refer to this as our personal, social and emotional development programme. This involves helping children to develop a positive sense of themselves, and others and to form positive relationships and develop respect for others. We help your child to develop social skills and learn how to manage their feelings as well as to understand appropriate behaviour in groups and to have confidence in their own abilities.

Safeguarding
The safety and well being of your child is paramount in all that we do. Staff working in our settings have a legal duty of care towards the children attending and this means that we have a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at each setting. We will determine who has parental responsibility for each child before they start with us and ensure that all our staff have read and understood the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and remain up to date with safeguarding training, legislation and procedures. For further information about our safeguarding policies, please visit our policies page.

We link with local feeder schools
We also engage with feeder primary schools when the time comes for your child to leave us and we have good relationships with primary teaching staff ensuring a positive and smooth transition to school.

Learning through play - We follow The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum
We offer high quality care and a broad programme of education in a safe, friendly and stimulating environment. We will support you as parents in the important role as your child’s first educator and will involve you wherever possible in your child’s early years’ journey at pre-school. We comply with the DfE Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, placing our emphasis on learning through play.
The foundation to further learning comes from confidence and self-esteem. We are immensely proud when children leave us to start their journey into full-time education as a well-rounded little people and we pride ourselves on the relationships we have with our children and their parents. Many of our children are siblings of past children and we are delighted that parents want to return to us knowing that their child will receive the care and attention they deserve and this is evident in the recent glowing Ofsted reports .
